Seven Things You Didn't Know About Me.

I have been tagged by the lovely A Small Hand in Mine to receive the Kreativ Blogger award. Very pretty it is too - just the sort of thing a girl wants in her sidebar. The idea seems to be that you list seven things about yourself that you have not previously divulged on your blog, and that you then of course pass it on. So here goes....

1. I have a tattoo on my head. You can't see it because I have long hair and to be honest I forget it's there most of the time - that is until I go to a new hairdressers and see them do a complete double take. The reaction is always something along the lines of, 'Oh my god, you're the last person that I would have expected to have a tattoo on their head!' I'm never quite sure how to take that.

2. I'm quite handy. I can put up a mean shelf, and in fact I built a whole book case at the top of our stairs myself. I have a really impressive tool box full of my late grandfathers ancient old tools and I love a bit of flat pack.

3. I'm a typical Virgo which always strikes me as being rather ironic seeing as I don't believe that when you happen to have been born has any bearing whatsoever on your personality. But even I can't deny my own perfectionism and liking for things to be in order. My books are grouped into sections and the fiction section is in alphabetical order for christs sakes. Friends over the years have found this anally retentive aspect to my nature completely hilarious - even my own mother takes the piss - which is rich coming from her because she's exactly the same!

4. I like driving really fast. In another life I would have been a formula one driver. Lewis Hamilton would have been eating my dust.

5. I have absolutely no sense of direction and have even been known to get lost in peoples houses. Perhaps it's a spatial awareness thing because I once did one of those IQ tests - you know the ones with the little puzzles you have to solve - and my eventual score suggested that I was of subnormal intelligence.

6. I have recently been reunited with my best friend from when I was a teenager, through facebook of all things. Even though it is now many years later, we still share a real connection. We have met up a few times now and I'm absolutely thrilled to have her back in my life.

7. I'm scared of horses. They're far too big.

So with that it is now time for me to tag seven other bloggers whom I would like to get to know better. Would you like a Kreativ Blogger award?

  1. Thanks for the tag, I have already done this one but thankyou for thinking of me.

Just reading yours and you sound like me with the exception of 1, 2 & 6, oh and being a virgo. I like being anally retentive.

  2. LMAO at subnormal intelligence - how rude! Thanks for the tag lovely, great to be getting to know you a bit better. Unbelievably this is one that I've actually managed to complete so I've updated it to include you: http://battlingon.wordpress.com/memes-tags-awards/finally-a-completed-meme/

    Thanks xxx

  3. Thanks for the tag! But I too have already done this one... You sound really tough: tatoo, shelves, fast driving ... wow! I wouldn't pay any attention to the IQ test - whoever said spatial awareness was important? Just stay in the same place all the time and you'll be fine! (that's what I do). Or, use your verbal and social intelligence and ask directions often!

  4. umm-verybored-that is being lazy and paula that is being a cheat.

If I just finished my 4th happy101 meme (each with a different lesson learned) and have already done this meme twice (guess I am going for a third), then so can you guys. Come on.

I do have to do my 10th picture meme still (for the 2nd and 3rd times lol) and I still have a few more on my list including Paula's tardis tumble, but I am up for a challenge. (I hope)

  7. I'm with you on the horses - definitely much too big! Same goes for cows. Mind you, I'm pretty much scared of most animals, LOL.

I too am fascinated by the tattoo - what is it? why on your head?

  8. Gah! Epic tag fail alert! Sorry you've all already done it - it's hard to know who's done what sometimes.

Heather, PMSL I would love to bring my "hand skills" round for a visit some time...

To everybody who has expressed an interest, the tattoo is a pattern rather than a picture of anything in particular, and is based around a small spiral with lines coming off it towards the front of my head and the back of my neck. I almost forget what it looks like to be honest because I never see it! I had it done by someone I knew a very long time ago. I still like the fact that it's there, but invisible if you know what I mean. I've got perfectly sensible 34 year old woman hair these days.

  9. It's LOTM here - I've bitten the bullet and this is my new name. Can't believe you alphabetise your books, that is anal :) I'm with you on the zero sense of direction, it's actually embarrassing. Do you turn maps around to face the way you're going like I do?

  10. Oh fantastic!!! I was a bit worried about you - especially after what we were talking about on twitter the other night - all of a sudden I couldn't find your blog and I thought 'oh I hope she hasn't disappeared completely.' It's really great to 'see' you (love your little avatar.)

It is anal isn't it, putting your books in alphabetical order, but in my defence I've got shelves full of them and I wouldn't be able to find anything if I didn't - not that I've read a single book since I've been gripped with blogging fever anyway.

And yes, I do that with maps too!

  13. Oh wow I have a mental picture of you getting lost very fast something I long to do frequently especially when I have to do flat pack stuff! Seriously impressed!

  14. The tattoo is pretty cool, I can picture a new hairdresser checking it out and then looking at you a second time. Funny.
